"The Hanover Dragoons
Camp #827, SCV"
October 2005 Meeting

Compatriots & Prospective Members,

We had a great attendance at our October Camp meeting! Great show of faces by our Camp Compatriots & guests!

Our guest speaker was Compatriot Walter Tucker, Adj/Trsr of the Longstreet Camp, who gave his presentation of "The Statues on Monument Avenue". We really appreciated him coming to speak to us & we all thoroughly enjoyed his presentation! Below are photos of the WBTS-related monuments on Monument Avenue in Richmond,VA.

We also received a completed membership application from Clayton B. Burch!
We are honored to have you joining our Camp & warmly welcome you!

Your Commander had the great honor of bringing greetings on behalf of the Virginia Division, SCV on October 7th during the 110th Annual Convention of the Virginia Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy. Their theme for this year's convention was "Yellow Tavern" and we had many visitors to that sacred location while their convention was in session. The VA Division, UDC laid a wreath at the Yellow Tavern monument during this four day event and some photos are below. Among those bringing greetings were Capt. Robert C. Peniston, USN Ret. and Mr. Waite Rawls, Executive Director of the Museum of the Confederacy as seen in one of the photos below with Cmdr. Millikin.

Our next Camp will be Wednesday, November 16th at Slash Church. Rather than a guest speaker, we will be watching a very unique video about Confederates in Brazil. Social time begins at 6pm, followed by dinner ($11 per person) then video & Camp business. Be sure to bring a friend, relative or any interested person with you!

We are continuing to steadily grow with members both young and young at heart.
Come out and enjoy the fellowship of fellow Compatriots, get some Confederate education and enjoy some great food.
